Wood-Mode Super Model
Twenty-one years ago while taking college classes and working in a lumber yard, anxious to start my university architectural education. I was given a gift subscription to Architectural Digest. I remember reading the articles that were focused on architecture and skipping over the big diamond and fabric fashion ads. I remember being impressed with the Wood-Mode Fine Custom Cabinetry glossy ads. Perhaps it is a gender stereotype thing, the guy goes goofy over fine wood and the gals go for the fabric and diamonds.
Anyway, as time went on I found myself working around and in many cabinet shops. Yet, the distinctive touch of class that I remembered in the pages of the AD was my mind mirage, the elusive cover girl. In 2005, I met a regional manager for Wood-Mode and was given the opportunity to be connected with the dream persona. A member of a Pennsylvania family that set-up business in 1942, Wood-Mode and has an amazing story. Now there may be finer cabinets to be claimed by the rich and famous, but this guy has found his girl.
Wood-Mode makes the connection between exceptional kitchen design and the influences that inspired them. Her kitchen design portfolio describes design influences in historical and architectural perspective. Ah, my girls’ beauty is connected to historical and modern design influences. She is smart and possesses the finest in modern equipment tempered with experience and education. She is even into environmentally green cabinet processes. An educated experienced classy modern girl, together with a principled architectural residential design and wood-loving guy who loves to work in the kitchen and help create inspiring places that have value. Yep, a great couple and fine love story.
